Bambu Lab PLA Basic is an easy-to-print, beginner-friendly 3D printer filament with a smooth surface finish. Choose your colour and either a refill or filament on a spool for indoor models, decorative projects and everyday prototyping.

Product specifications

Bed temperature depends on your build plate. Use the manufacturer's PLA Basic profile and plate-specific guidance rather than treating one temperature as suitable for every printer or plate.

What can you print with PLA Basic?

• Indoor display models and architectural models
• Decorative pieces, ornaments and visual prototypes
• General-purpose test prints where high-temperature, outdoor or safety-critical performance is not required

Choose by the actual part's requirements. PLA has limited heat and UV resistance and is not a general choice for hot environments, prolonged outdoor exposure or demanding load-bearing applications. Printed-part performance depends on settings, orientation and design. Do not assume PLA Basic prints are suitable for food contact.

Spool or refill?

Choose Filament on Spool if you need the filament supplied on a spool. A Refill needs a compatible spool before use; a refill is not a standalone spool. Follow Bambu Lab's refill installation instructions.

Bambu Lab lists PLA Basic as compatible with all AMS Series. Its RFID-embedded filament system supports automatic material identification on compatible Bambu Lab equipment. Follow the setup guidance for your specific printer and AMS.
